not sure what the wii has in store for 2009, is it worth buying a current game or would waiting be a better option?

The people who tell you that the Wii is full of just kiddie games need to check again. There are plenty of games that are very hardcore and more adult oriented. The deal with Nintendo is that they're family friendly, they believe that you don't have to have blood and gore and fantastic graphics in every game to be a GOOD game. That being said, there are a few games that would be good for a kiddie-game hating 20 year old. No More Heroes is an excellent example. This game is full of violence and cursing and is just an all around awesome game. It has a main character named Travis Touchdown, and he uses a beam katana to rip people's head off and wants to achieve the title of #1 assassin. Another game that is coming out (I believe this year) is called MadWorld. This game was originally supposed to be a WiiWare (Downloadable) title but got bumped up to become an actual game, which means it merits more worth. The game has a very interesting graphic style and the main character has a chainsaw for an arm. That sounds more violent than most other things on the Wii and would be excellent for a 20 year old. Another game on the horizon for this year would be The Conduit, which is a Halo-style FPS game that has a lot of potential, and a lot of people are looking forward to. Games that are already out on the system that would also be good for someone in their early 20s include Super Smash Brothers Brawl (An all around awesome game that everyone that I've talked to loves, both child and adult alike), Manhunt 2 (RIDICULOUSLY MATURE), Disaster: Day of Crisis and another recommendation would be Red Steel. This game gets a lot of flak, but it's also not a terrible game. A lot of people give it bad ratings because it's somewhat glitchy, but as the first FPS on the system, the game was actually very well pulled off. It was a launch title, of course, made by Ubisoft. Some people love it, most people don't like the glitchiness of it. But I do have a few friends and customers who really like it.

I hope I've helped you with some of your decisions.
